Reaching MOP!?
Congratulations! Your HDB has finally reached it’s Minimum Occupancy Period… But what’s next?
Dear HDB Homeowner, The Real Estate Market in Singapore is very high priced and extremely expensive to get into… But one thing that we all know for sure, we have seen the obvious decrease in pricing for HDB resale flats over time. It is becoming very clear that the HDBs are a depreciating asset. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that ALL HDBs are liabilities and will not hold value.. But from the price indices of HDB resale flats and data of HDB prices, holding a HDB for a long period of time may no longer be the best option in Singapore. Which is why more and more HDB homeowners, after their MOP periods, are selling off their HDBs and moving into a private property. But.. Not everyone can do that!
