The problem that I often hear from HDB owners is that they wanted to pay off their HDB as they see that home loan is a bad debt rather than a good debt. And often than not, as their top priority, they choose CPF over cash to pay off their HDB, to gain financial freedom.
The truth is Paying off HDB using CPF does NOT mean you are financially free!
Why? Any CPF amount withdrawn is subject to accrued interest! This means you are still paying your own CPF interest.
This interest stops compounding only when all the CPF amount with accrued interest has been returned.

I can help to understand this by using my curated R.A.M. analysis.
